Bank holiday weekend FTW

Monday 24th:

Wasn’t as bad a day as I expected. I mean, yeah, I was totally not mentally prepared to go back to work after 10 days off. But I did. And I lived. And so did everyone else. So a win!

Mom and I are fine. We just left it as a middle of the night tiff.

Tuesday 25th:

My brother came to visit today so my mom picked me up for lunch. We had a little lunch date (and a catch up). Scarlett came too. Was good getting out the office. Much needed fresh air and convo!

Wednesday 26th:

I had lunch with my work team. We went to a pub down the road. I had a steak and cheese wrap. It was delicious. It came with fries and a drink for £8. That’s really old IMO. I saw the trailer for Kingsman 2. It looked brilliant so I’ll definitely be going to see that.

Thursday 27th:

Had my 1-to-1 monthly meeting at work. Nothing special. Just chatting and filling out a form. I ordered some bits from GAP for Scarlett for our holiday to Italy. It’ll be warm when we go so she needed some new dresses. Most of her dresses don’t fit her now. They’re 9-12 months some of them, and she’s grown in height so they’re like t-shirts now lol

I tidied up when Scarlett was in bed. Hoovered then washed up. Did 2 loads of washing. Made myself a snack. Took sausages out of the freezer for breakfast Friday and then got in to bed.

Friday 28th:

I had a super busy day. I had this task to do. It was massive and took me all day, and I’m not even finished yet. Will finish it Tuesday, hopefully! Mom met me for lunch. We grabbed food then I picked up Scarlett’s new Clarks shoes. I got her the pink version of the white ones she already has.

Someone told me I looked pregnant. So I guess I’ll have to start dieting if it’s got to that point lol tbf I know I’ve put on about 10 lbs in the last 7 months. Ever since I went back to work. That can’t be a coincidence surely!

Tonight Scarlett had a bath and went to bed by 7ish. Mom and I watched emmerdale then when her boyfriend arrived, we had dinner. They watched some tele downstairs. I came up to watch Riverdale in bed. I’m knackered. It’s been a long week so I may go to sleep soon.

We are going to Godstone Farm tomorrow. It looks really fun. There’s a lot of stuff designed for her age and now she’s walking it’ll be so much better for her to explore. I’m excited lol can you tell?

Sunday blues

Friday 7th:

Brett came down tonight. He got to mine at midnight-ish. We were fine but he got the hump when I mentioned my plans to take Scarlett to Italy. He was really upset I had “considered” him. He said that if we are suppose to be a family then why wouldn’t I want him to go. I tried to explain to him that we aren’t the traditional type family. We don’t live together. We don’t even parent her equally. I do 85%, he does a small part when he IS here. So yeah he didn’t take it great. It wasn’t even that I didn’t want him to come. It was more “I just wanted to take her on a trip I had planned long before I had fell pregnant and had sacrificed it for her”.

Saturday 8th:

He still wasn’t happy when he got up and I thought he was going to go home. But we worked it out. We let Scarlett nap then we took her into town. He walked around with her. occasionally she would hold his hand. Cute! We had lunch then we went back home. She had dinner and then he did bath time and put her to bed then we watched a film. We watched Nerve.

Sunday 9th:

We went to bed quite late Saturday as we watched another film in bed and then went to bed. Getting up was rough but I put Scarlett back down for a nap after bottle and breakfast so that was good. Again we went into town. We had lunch and then did some shopping before heading home. We put Scarlett down for an afternoon nap and watched the finale episode of 13 Reasons Why. That show has changed me. It was so intense and eye opening. I mean, I am fully aware of how bullying goes in school having been on the receiving end, in the same kind of ways that Hannah was. Which just reinforced the fact that it could have easily been me who did what she did. Scary thought! I just hope I can raise Scarlett to feel like she can always talk to me and Brett [no matter what], and if not us then another family member if she is having a hard time. I would not wish her to suffer in silence.

Brett went home at about 8ish. He did bath time before he went. She loves when he baths her. I put her down after he went and then mom and I watched Vera.

Work tomorrow but it is only a 4 day week as it is Easter, so Friday is Good Friday. I am off next week so I effectively have 10 days off. Yes!

25 today!

It’s my birthday. It’s my birthday. It’s my birthday. It’s my birthday. It’s my fucking birthday!!!!!!!

So yeah I’m 25 haha I gave Scarlett the birthday card she got me, so she could “give it” to me. Gosh she’s so adorable I could squish her!

We got up, I fed her some bottle. She plays with it lol so we got dressed and we left for the train. We literally made the train with 30 seconds to spare!

35 minutes later and we were in Waterloo station and speed walking to meet Nicola and Matilda. We met and decided to walk to one of the restaurants on the road leading to the London Eye. So we grabbed a drink in All Bar One whilst Matilda had her bottle. I had a good long hold of her and she decided to vom on my shirt lol I was like thanks for that missy. After a nappy change we made our way over to the London Eye. After faffing in the queue, and me realising I had to queue elsewhere to pick up my ticket as I had inadvertently not selected “e-ticket”, we finally got in one of the pods. The babies were absolutely brilliant. We could not fault them at all. We took lots of pictures, let them sit and stand etc before we finally departed to find some food.

We walked back to the place we were before but ended up next door in the Slug & Lettuce. The girls were napping so we ordered a drink and had a good old natter then we ordered some food. We both went for a chicken burger. It wasn’t half bad. It was chargrilled. The girls woke up when we were eating (fancy that). Scarlett had her bottle then I finished eating and got her out. We took some more pictures then at 3:45 we decided to make a move towards the station as neither of us fancied travelling in rush hour (5-7pm). We walked to the station and I walked them both to the lift down to the underground. Scarlett was asleep by then but Matilda was awake so I said goodbye then I hugged Nicola and off she went.

Our train was scheduled for 4:49pm and it was 4:20pm by then so I found the platform and got on the train as it was waiting there already. I got a seat this time as I ran and sat in the disabled carriage (more room). We got off the train the other end at 5:15pm, jumped on a bus at 5:45 and were home just after 6pm. Scarlett was knackered but she was super excited to see her nanny and uncle Jordy.

She had some of her last feed then she had a bath. We shared. Then mom got her out and dressed her whilst I washed my hair. She drank the rest of her bottle and was in bed asleep by 9pm. She’s such a good little human!!!

We had a fab day. I am so thankful to Nicola for coming with me because she’s scared of friggin heights (and for those that don’t know, the London Eye is sky high). So it must be love for her to do that lol #TrueLoveWins #BestiesFo’LifeMotherfucker ;)

I am 25. I have a beautiful daughter, a sexy man (who I wouldn’t change even when he’s being an ass) and a lovely family (mostly). What more could I want? Alcohol, that’s what I  want. So glad I’m having a party on Saturday. Love a reason to get dressed up and natter with peeps I haven’t seen in a long time. Looking forward to it. Plus I can show off both my daughter (not everyone has met her) and my boyfriend (being single for 4 years previous made me realise I missed having someone to share things with, I’m so glad I met Brett).

I’m in bed trying to watch the new Batman V Superman movie but I just can’t seem to get in to it! Oh dear!

21 weeks

I forgot to say on Sunday that I ordered Scarlett a Sophie the Giraffe. It came Sunday afternoon. She’s not overly bothered by it but she will chew it if I give it to her, which is the whole point.

Monday Scarlett was 21 weeks old. It’s crazy to think that 21 weeks ago I had just had her and now she’s this moving, chatty little thing.

Monday we did go in to town in the end. I got a few random bits including a lovely red spotty dress for Scarlett. As you can see below she doesn’t mind her Sophie.

Tuesday we visited our Nana’s house and I had dinner there. Scarlett wore her new GAP romper that my dad and step-mom brought her from Portsmouth at the beginning of the month.

Wednesday (yesterday) she tried out her walker for the first time. I bought it Sunday online. It was only £25 and it has two options. Wheels or static. It’s currently static as she’s too little to be wheeling it around my house lol

That isn’t what you are meant to do

Today is the day to vote on whether Britain should leave the EU. It’s the referendum. I’m voting. I’m voting to leave. But in my own personal opinion I’m not convinced it matters too much who votes for what because parliament still have the deciding say as they vote anyway so even if Leave win the voting today, we may not even leave. Plus it takes like 2 years to come into affect. You can’t just up and leave the EU in one day lol

I went to vote at 5pm on my way home from my nan’s house and was told the polling station I went to wasn’t the one that does my road. It use to be. Didn’t realise it had changed. So at 8:30pm mom took me in the car to the right one so we both could vote.

Tomorrow I’m getting little bub weighed. She was 11 lb 2 oz when she was weighed 4 weeks ago. I reckon she’ll be 12lb exactly but we’ll see. Maybe all the food she’s had has helped her gain slightly more. I’m not worried if it hasn’t. She’s doing fine as she is. Her legs a definitely chunkier now.

She is 5 months on Saturday. Where does the time go!!!

19 weeks

Thursday: Scarlett’s doctors appointment was fine. The lump in her leg *should* go but I’m to keep an eye on it. The doctor examined her skin. She reckons she has a little bit of eczema so she prescribed her something to put in her bath water and some cream for afterwards. If it works she’ll put it on repeat prescription for her.

Brett went home Thursday evening. Early. As he was working Friday.

Friday: We got the train to my dads house as we were spending the day with him, my stepmom and the kids. We jumped in the car at lunch and drove to Portsmouth. It’s only 20-25 minutes from where he lives. We decided we’d eat but everywhere was full so we booked a table for 2 and decided to use our waiting time to go up the Spinnaker Tower. I went up there last year on holiday when I was 14 weeks pregnant. It was strange going up again but with an 18 week old baby.

13329550_1226858247347601_2241678215474302961_o

I laid her on the glass floor and we walked across it. Heights don’t bother me.

After the tower we settled in for lunch. I had had a cold for a few days so my nose was blocked and I couldn’t taste anything. I ordered a Rodeo Chicken burger with cheese. It was delicious. The chicken was grilled and the bun was sesame and poppy seeds. It came with chips and I had ordered a side of garlic flat bread.

The boys wanted to go up the Spinnaker again so I had a wander around the shops. I went into GAP but I didn’t see anything I liked. My stepmom went in and she found a lovely pink romper so she bought Scarlett that. It is going in the suitcase for holiday.

My dad dropped us back at the train station at 7ish and we were off the train at 8. Mom hadn’t eaten and I had only had lunch so we grabbed a bite then went to my nan’s for a cuppa.

Saturday: We went to my nan’s and tried out some bubbles. She wasn’t quite sure about them as they kept popping before she had chance to study them. It wasn’t that warm so we tried out her new coat. I bought it ages ago and it had been in her wardrobe. It is waterproof and slightly lined so it will keep the wind and rain out. I think I will put it in her suitcase for holiday in case the weather is shitty.

Sunday: We had dinner at my nan’s house. It was a lot warmer so I took our new paddling pool round and set it up. I had bought a soft jigsaw mat so we put that underneath so it was soft for her to sit and lay in the pool. I filled up the pool and stripped to my undies. We sat in there together (well she laid in it) for ages. Afterwards we got out, I dried and dressed her then we went home.

Yesterday (Monday): I needed to pop to town and mom wanted to get her haircut so we drove in. She went off to the hairdressers and I walked round to get some Baby Sun Lotion for our holiday. Then I stopped by the nail bar and had my eyebrows done because they were bushy as fuck. I walked to meet mom and we ate lunch together. After lunch we stopped off at my nan’s. At 3ish we went in the paddling pool again. It was lovely sitting in there just relaxing. She was kicking away and giggling.

She was 19 weeks yesterday. She’s such a joy. She giggles and shouts. I sing to her a lot. She watches me intently. She also watches me eat which is very off putting. Weaning is a success. She has 1 jar a day at the moment. Usually split in to two. She has them at lunch and dinner time. Her favourite food so far is carrot. It’s a shame they’re orange and again EVERYTHING!!!

Tomorrow I have my dental referral with the consultant regarding my impacted wisdom tooth. I hope the surgery is soon. I want it out the way. Thursday we are popping in to work to say Hi. My friend’s birthday is that day so I’ve got a card for him. He’s 50!

We are up early tomorrow so I’m off to sleep. If I can. It’s so humid!

Bingo pants

Thursday I did go bingo and I won £20. I also won a prize on the raffle. I won a bunch of breakfast food like bacon, eggs, sausages and beans. I don’t eat anything except sausage lol

Friday we had a McDonald’s breakfast as mom wasn’t working. She said she felt sick but figured she just needed to eat. So she did and then we did the food shop. She still felt sick after so she went to bed when we got home and I just chilled with Scarlett.

I have started speaking to a really nice normal guy this week. He’s a year younger but he doesn’t seem it. He’s got his head screwed on and he loves kids. All his friends have children and he says he does want to have a child sometime, before he’s 30. He lives in London but he’s getting the train to my town on Tuesday as he has got the week of work. We are going into the town so we’ll have lunch and a good old chat etc. I’m excited to meet him. We’ve been talking on the phone constantly and that’s not like me. I hate phone calls. We whatsapp all day and snapchat stupid pics lol I know I’m taking a bit of a risk as I’ll have Scarlett with me when we meet in town but it’s public and daylight. Plus my gut tells me he’s a good guy and it’s rarely wrong so I’m going with it. I fancy the pants off him so I’m nervous a bit about the whole thing. The whole dating scene is so crazy and exhausting. I’ll be happy when I’m no longer on it!!

Saturday I went to my nan’s in the afternoon. Ended up having dinner there. I had steak pie and wedges. I love it. I’m addicted to steak pie and ginger cake at the moment. It’s weird because I never had any cravings during pregnancy yet now all I want is those two things.

Sunday I had Sunday roast at my nan’s house. I had roast beef and it was delicious. I stayed there till 6ish then I walked home. Scarlett sat and watched some TV whilst I made an attempt to clear some stuff from my room that’s been sitting there annoying me for weeks. She lasted 10 minutes before she cried. She had pooped, so in her defence that’s fair enough to cry. I ran a bath and we climbed in. Usually when we bath share I’m on my own so I do it all awkwardly but by myself. Mom was still here, she hasn’t left for work, so she got her out and dressed her for bedwhilst I washed my hair etc and got ready for bed.

She had a feed and then she was out like a light. That was at about 8:30pm. I managed to take her upstairs at 9:30pm and put her in the Moses Basket without waking her and that’s where she’s been ever since. As much as I love co-sleeping, it’s healthier for her to sleep alone so I’m hoping she’ll just get on with it. She never had an issue sleeping in it before but I do worry that co-sleeping has changed that.

I’m meeting my friend Simon tomorrow in town. We’ve been friends for 4 years now. Should be a good day. I’m thinking lunch and a wander round the shops. He’ll hate that lol he’s male after all.

Scarlett is currently still in her basket fast asleep (at 2:50am) and I’m finally knackered so I’m going to call it a night.

Off to grandad’s house

Sunday morning we got up at nan’s. I fed Scarlett then dressed her. I got myself dressed and we went downstairs. Nan was cooking dinner and we ate at 1:30ish. It was delicious.

Monday was a bank holiday and Nan was away most the day seeing my uncle so I popped in to check on the dog. As I tend to do a lot lately. Mom and I popped into town and ended up having lunch. She filled her car up and then we came home.

Tuesday I had the dentist again. I had to have a small filling. Such a hard core bitch I had it without the lidocaine injection haha I hate that stuff, I feel like I’m dribbling the few times I’ve had it so I always decline now. Fillings are nasty without numbing stuff but they’re tolerable. Bit like child birth I guess.

Mom was off Tuesday night for a change so we got in her bed, with Scarlett, and watched Blindspot. This was after I had had a bath while she watched Scarlett. After that finished we watched Insidious 3. I saw it last year at the cinema when I was pregnant but mom never saw it. At this point Scarlett was flat out for the rest of the night but she kept jumping a little because mom kept jumping and making noises (squeals) lol

When it finished we got into our bed and went to sleep.

Today we visited my dad for the day. Mom and I had a cheeky McDonald’s breakfast before she dropped us at the station. We got the train there at 10:15. At 12:30 we went to a lovely quaint pub for lunch. I had cheesy garlic bread and chunky chips. It was delicious. My dad fed Scarlett a feed and so did my stepmom. We got the train back home at 6:15 and my Nan picked us up the other end and dropped us home. My dad got me an Easter egg and Scarlett got some 3-6m outfits. She’s so spoiled. They’ll do great when we go on holiday.

I watched Emmerdale when I got in whilst feeding her then she did a massive poop so I stripped her naked and ran her a bath. She had her bath and then we both were ready for bed. I did an update on my iPad then I put a film on. I watched Man Up. Another film I saw last year while pregnant lol

Scarlett has been fast asleep since 9:30pm and I’m shattered so I’m going to join her.

I’m hoping to finally get her weighed again tomorrow, if we get up in time for the baby clinic between 9:30 and 11. We’ll see but she needs weighing.
