Wednesday was much the same as Tuesday on the work front. Quiet. I put Scarlett to bed like normal. But I forgot to switch the monitor on. I usually keep an eye on her whilst she’s settling. I didn’t. I eventually realised and went into check on her before I went to bed. She had taken her onesie off because she was hot [evident by her sweaty head] and then was wrapped half in her duvet. So I put a vest on her so she wouldn’t be able to take her nappy off if she woke up before me. Then I climbed into bed. She is so damn cheeky it makes me giggle.
Thursday she put her own coat on. They teach them how to do it at Nursery. She’s such a clever bean! Scarlett asked me to put my phone down when we had done her bath. When I did she took it off me and put it on the side. Then she asked me to sit next to her for a cuddle. It made me simultaneously melt with love and then guilt. She obviously thinks I’ve used my phone too much recently between 5-7pm. I never use to. I had a strict rule of them 2 hours being privileged time. For just me and her. I only use to use my phone to call Brett for FaceTime. Or to take pics or videos of her. But now I use it a lot for other things like Snapchat or WhatsApp. And I’m so sorry to her for that. It’s a bad habit. But I can break it very quickly. I’m not addicted. It’s just one of things that creeps up on you.
I got into bed at 11ish. I hadn’t been watching much on TV. I had music on. I didn’t get to sleep till almost 1am. This is a recurring issue lately. I think I am still adjusting to the lack of background noise. I just lived next to a motorway for 23 years. We are only 2 weeks into living away from it.
Today was sunny and bright. Scarlett and I did our usual morning routine. Friday’s we drive her to nursery. We get McDonald’s breakfast. We go through the drive through. We got there and it was shut because some knobhead doesn’t know the size of his van and got himself wedged under the “height restriction” sign. Typical man not knowing the size of something! So I got out and went in to order our breakfasts. Scarlett gets aggy as soon as the bag comes in the car because she know’s it’s food but it’s too hot. So she sulks all the way to my work.
My day has been pretty good. I love Friday’s. We are not up to much this weekend. It is my cousins birthday today so we are going for dinner tomorrow as a family.
