Sunburnt

Monday:
The travelling. Omg! So basically we were set to get off at West St. Leonard’s but when we pulled up I got off and Brett (being away with the fairies) didn’t get off. So he was stuck on the train as I’m stood outside waving at him like “wtf you doing? We’re meant to be off”. I tried to call him to say to get off at the next stop and I’ll meet him there. Didn’t ring. Straight to voicemail. I remembered, he’d said it had died on the train. I wasn’t sure what to do so I crossed over the bridge and waited the other side thinking he may have gotten off at the next stop and come straight back. 20 minutes go by and nothing. A train pulls in and he doesn’t get off. Then my phone rings. It’s his mom. Turns out he remembers her number off by heart so he’s managed to borrow a phone from a fellow traveller and called her to call me. So I got a taxi to the station he was at and the same taxi the took all 3 of us to the caravan site. Overall it took us an hour longer but we made it.

We checked in at 5:15 and went to our caravan. We are situated right next to reception so that means a short stroll to the shops and swimming pool too. So we dumped our stuff and headed straight to the shop for the necessities lol this included bread, milk, washing up liquid, sandwich fillings etc. We had brought 2 steak pies with us from home so we grabbed some chips to go with, and we had our dinner. Scarlett did so well sleeping in a big girl bed for the first time. She slept so well and I was so proud of her.

Tuesday:

We decided to go to Hastings for the day. So we set off at 10:30. We walked down the hill to catch the bus to the town centre. We decided to do the Aquarium then have lunch then do the Smugglers Caves. So we headed down the sea front to the Aquarium. Scarlett loved all the different fish and sea creatures. We stopped in a lovely little fish and chip restaurant down by the entrance to the Clifftop Railway. Brett and I had passed a jewellery store on the way to the Aquarium and I’d pick out a lovely ring. He wouldn’t let me have it. Said I had to wait for him to find the perfect moment to bend down and ask. We had our lunch and then headed to the clifftop railway. The view up there is amazing. Scarlett had a massive poop explosion and we had run out of wipes so we did the best we could to sort it with warm water and tissue roll. Brett had it all over his hands and arms so he sorted himself out then we headed back down.

He had the hump because it turns out he planned to propose at the very top of the hill but her poop issue ruined it lol In the end he got down on bended knee on the beach looking out at the gorgeous hot summers day. It was perfect. I said yes, obviously! After we let Scarlett throw a few pebbles we headed back to the bus.

We tried to go swimming when we got back but turned out the swimming pool closes at 5:45. That seems uncharacteristically early to me. Especially for the summer. I mean it’s light until 10pm. But hey ho. So we came back and got changed then headed back down to the entertainment centre. Scarlett had BurgerKing for dinner. She loved that. We had a little play in the arcade then we headed black to the caravan. Scarlett had a bath, a bottle and then went to bed. We had a lovely relaxing evening. We watched NCIS and then Ultimate Force.

Wednesday (today):

We decided to go to Eastbourne today. Scarlett woke up at 7ish so I gave her a bottle and put her back down. She woke up again at 8. Brett hadn’t had a good nights sleep so I gave her breakfast then took her to the play park behind our caravan for half hour. She loves running about and jumping. She’s such a tearaway for a tiny person lol

We wanted to try out the swimming pool so we headed down at 10ish. Scarlett was loving it and we showed Brett what she’s been taught at her swimming lessons. We decided to try the outside pool. The floor was painful to walk on (although Brett says I’m just a sensitive soul). We dipped in the outside pool but it was freezing even though the weather was really hot. Scarlett didn’t like it. She kept shivering. So I took her out and sat down on one of the loungers with her in a towel. She sat on my lap cuddling me for ages. Brett went down the massive slide/flume thing a few times. He’s a fantastic swimmer. No fear. Good for him lol I can just about swim and that’s it.

After swimming we headed back. Scarlett had a nap. I laid on our bed chilling. Cooling down. It was so warm. When she woke up we all had a sandwich then we headed out at 2pm to get a taxi to Hastings station. We were going to Eastbourne for the afternoon. Just to look around and maybe have some dinner. So we got off the train at 3:30pm. We walked into the shopping mall. I spent £35 in Primark. I got Scarlett a lush dress and matching shoes plus a few cheap summer tshirts and some grey slip on shoes. I also got myself some Harry Potter socks haha

We walked back towards the station and had a lovely meal at the Wetherspoons. I had a hotdog and chips. Scarlett had the same, the kids version. Brett had an all day brunch. We also got cheesy garlic bread. Scarlett loves it. We ate then got back on the train to Hastings.

Brett gave Scarlett a bath and got her ready for bed. She didn’t go down till 9pm. We were watching NCIS and listening out for her. Just watching Ultimate Force now.

Not doing doing anything tomorrow. Maybe swimming. But staying on site. My legs ache and my knee is hurting again. Plus we’ll just spend more money if we leave haha
